Car fully loaded, a few provisions for the journey and into the experience that is the US highways. Not too unpleasant really, just a sat nav with a rather grating tone! Not long before my passengers were nodding dogs and I was consuming rather a lot of water. By 11.30 we had reached Miraposa, very western looking and quite hot. Coffee and a wander around were followed by a visit to the supermarket for our initial supplies. Sabine’s introduction to oversized everything – the gallon tub of ice cream was of particular note!
We arrived at Bass Lake Resort and were pleasantly welcomed to great accommodation, on a good site in a rather nice location. Having settled in we did a quick explore of the Lake area and finished our afternoon having a cold beer overlooking the recreation facilities of Bass Lake. Very nice!! Barbequed steak dinner at home to finish the day was just the ticket.
